Danielea offering a loving prayer for the right use of machinery for the benefit of all
at the Tar Sands on her 55 birthday, August 2013
My time with the Athabasca River and the tar sands communities, both human and other-than-human was a profound experience for me. As some of you know I chose to spend my 55th birthday waking up in the Tar Sands. It might seem like an odd choice for a birthday celebration but my gratitude for finally knowing, understanding and fulfilling my life work is enormous. Whatever I require to do to facilitate more harmony between humans and nature especially with Water and Oil, is a small trade for the deep fulfillment I experience everyday because of my unique partnership with Water.
I am currently reviewing video and audio documentation of my summer in Alberta to create a public presentation about the value of Gratitude To Water for me as a human being and water steward, as well as the value to Water itself. I am also working with two other film artists on an application for funding to make a doc film about Gratitude to Water which will include documentation from the upcoming Rivers Day Public Art Intervention The Bank of Gratitude.
I give deep thanks to the people and organizations who so graciously hosted and helped me this summer. Grace Kohn for giving me a place to stay in Jasper, sculptor Sharon Anderson for providing me with shelter and fresh greens from her garden, Harvey Scott and Jesse Cardinal of The Keepers of the Athabasca for connecting me with Dr. John O'Connor and Gord and Barb Macdonald in Fort McKay First Nations, Bryan Jackson of Suncor Ltd, videographer Chelsea Pratchett, film student Nimra Amjad, and lastly but first in my heart alongside "Fraser" River is the "Lady A".............the Athabasca River who I discovered is a warrior spirit of profound endurance.
in loving flow,

The Bank of Gratitude Art Exhibit is a showcase of art created on the Fraser Riverbank for BC Rivers Day 2013.
On Sept. 29 people from four communities meditated on their gratitude to Rivers Fraser, Nechako and Athabasca, documenting their experience through some form of art. Each participant committed to be present for a specific period of time and to complete their artpiece on the riverbank.
What happens when a group of individuals sit quietly with a River
and express their love and gratitude?
See the art and hear the stories of the people and artists who participated in the Bank of Gratitude Public Art Intervention on Sept. 29, BC Rivers Day.

What People are saying about Danielea and SoundWeaving experiences:
"I can't thank you enough Danielea for the offering you are bringing to Quesnel. My being has been moved in such a deep and profound way! Your commitment to your calling, your voice, your purpose truly inspires me to become more open, committed to my own calling, my own voice, my own purpose on the planet!
Your workshop has reawakened yearnings in me that I haven't felt since I was a child. You are indeed a Weaver, not just of sound but of souls. I will be highly recommending you to my clients and everyone I know."
Janice Butler MEd Registered Clinical Counsellor
Through Danielea's voice empowerment workshops I have fallen in love with my voice again. The authentic sacred voice that was lying dormant deep within me has risen to the surface and has given me a renewed sense of confidence and awareness. I am able to communicate with more clarity and conviction whether through song, sound or speech."
"My experience at your workshop 3 nights ago was awesome. Nowhere before have I learned that the voice can be used for so many purposes. It reminded me how sacred our voices are in all the ways that it expresses our inner selves and provides means for communion. I am grateful for Danielea's ability to create a welcoming atmosphere that fosters risk-taking and experimentation with the voice. This workshop is more than just vocal training, it is a workshop that trains us on how to be more fully human and alive.
Furthermore, I went for a 3-day solo kayak trip right afterwards and I sang the craziest, ranting, chanting, panting, screaming, hoofing, giggling, solemn songs ever. I am amazed." Michael Geselbrach, UBC Urban Agricultural Student
"What I took away from the Water ceremony was how the river is such a powerful metaphor for living - inviting me to totally trust and surrender to what is. I am grateful for this timely teaching. Water is definitely the gift that keeps on giving! Thanks for the experience!" Parise Cyr-Lasonder, Hinton AB
"Danielea's voice and the chant starting with 'Oh Water' keeps repeating itself in my mind. Then I add my own words blessing water with my deep feelings of Love and Gratitude. The ceremony really touched me." Troi Leonard
